Sustainable Infrastructure
The research and development objectives in construction focus on developing innovative construction technologies and sustainable practices that reduce environmental impact while improving infrastructure quality. Highlighted research initiatives include utilising laterite waste in construction applications, the life cycle analysis of breakwater structures using slag-based binder materials, and applying machine learning in concrete prediction models. ULCCS also explores alternative materials for full-depth reclamation (FDR) technology and investigates new pavement construction technologies to address Kerala’s unique infrastructure challenges. ULCCS is involved in field trials and industrial tests in collaboration with premier academic/research institutions. These endeavours reflect ULCCS’s comprehensive approach towards research-driven innovation to foster sustainable development within the construction industry.
