Job Title: ULCCS Centenary Fellowship – Research Project on Kalarippayattu and Wellbeing
About the Fellowship:
Join us in a pioneering research initiative at the intersection of traditional Indian martial arts and holistic wellbeing. The ULCCS Centenary Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the exploration, documentation, and scientific study of the age-old practices of Kalarippayattu. This fellowship, a joint venture between the UL Research Centre (ULRC) in Kozhikode, Kerala, and the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) at IISc Campus, Bangalore, aims to unravel the profound connection between Kalarippayattu and personal health and wellbeing.
Project Details:
Title: Kalarippayattu and Wellbeing
Duration: 1 year (extendable)
Objective: To collect, curate, and scientifically study the traditional practices of different Kalari traditions, focusing on safeguarding and enhancing personal health and wellbeing.
Qualifications:
Essential: Ph.D. in Social Science/ Humanities/ any branch of Health Sciences or MBBS/ BHMS/ BAMS/ BUMS/ BSMS
Desirable: Strong interest and exposure to traditional martial arts; Proficiency in Malayalam (reading and writing); Interest in interdisciplinary research
Fellowship Benefits:
Monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 (consolidated)
Contingency grant of Rs. 1 lakh per year
